4 Campervan Project : Materials

To give an update, Bästi is now ready for us to finally start building, but before that, we need to choose the materials we will use.

We’ll divide them into electrical, water system, insulation, windows, furniture, 

kitchen, and extras.

Electrical:

• 3 solar panels of 415 watts each;

• 3 lithium batteries of 200 Ah each;

• 5000-watt power inverter;

• 2.5 mm electric cable;

• fuse box;

• LED light strip;

• sockets and USB connections.

  
  

  

Water system:

• 15 liters/minute submersible pump;

• Truma electric boiler 230 V 850 watts;

• 15 mm tecalan tubing;

• 1 fresh water tank of 150 liters;

• 2 grey water tanks of 20 liters each.

  
  

Insulation:

• 19 mm thick Azurflex elastomeric foam;

• the entire ceiling and walls will be covered with wooden slats;

• the floor will be laminate flooring.

  
  

Windows:

• 2 Dometic S4 windows 700x400;

• 1 Dometic Mini Heki FL skylight 28x28;

• 1 Dometic Mini Heki FL skylight 40x40.

  
  

  

  
  

Furniture:

• all the furniture will be built with wooden panels;

• the bed will have aluminium beams.

  
  

kitchen:

• 2-burner electric cooktop;

• Dometic 25-liter oven/microwave.

  
  

Extras:

• lots of screws;

• plenty of silicone, glue, and sealant;

• paint;

• mattresses and cushions.

  
  

  

  
  

The materials for the shower have not been decided yet.

We hope we have chosen the right materials, but we’ll only know for sure once we start using them.
